You want to be sure you're attracting the right kind of traffic to your website if you're selling a product or service. Before the Internet changed the way we market and sell products, salespeople that were trying to generate financial sales leads had to rely on cold calling. Cold calling requires calling complete strangers with the hope of convincing them to buy what you're selling. This technique is still in use today, but it is not a reliable sales technique. The salespeople generally purchase their leads from companies that sell their own customers personal information. The salesperson has no way of knowing whether or not these people have any interest in what they're offering. All the salesperson can do is hope that someone they call will say yes to their offer.
