There has been a lot of buzz around the web about Google banning certain Affiliate Marketers who used Adwords. People are nervous affiliate marketing is not going to last.
Alternatively, there are thousands of legitimate and well established brick and motar companies and/or businesses with strong affiliate programs, which offer reputable products and services. Some of those businesses include Zappos Shoes; Turbo Tax; Web hosting; Norton Anti-virus; 123 Inkjets; Travelocity; Automobile parts; Lawn and Garden products; Weight Watchers; Pet prescriptions and pet products; sporting goods and equipment; and Rosetta Stone language learning.
One of the ways you can add value to your site as an affiliate is to post “product reviews and testimonials.” Use real testimonials of some well- established customers. You should also use a product or service first before you promote it, so that your ad remains authentic. Use feedback from others who have used the product, including family and friends. You are able to report the true experience some one has had with the product and can stand behind what you are professing.
Create a niche or an angle surrounding your product. If someone is looking at Weight Watchers ads for example, they want to lose weight. Find a way to fine tune that angle by drawing them into a scenario. Why do they want to lose weight? To be healthy? Is there an event they want to look good for, like a wedding or a class reunion? The possibilities are endless as to create interest in your product to hook them in by tying it to another.
The only security in business is to hone your craft and to be really good at copywriting, negoitiating and buying traffic, as well as other direct marketing skill. Affiliate marketing is selling to a consumer wthout the face to face part of sales. The days of easy profits from affiliates are long gone. Joint venturing and sales are the proven winners when all is said and done.
